BJJ Seminar: Thales Teaching Closed Guard Concepts

An overview of common guard positions for BJJ practitioners

July 22, 2017: Concepts of the Guard Positions Seminar

At noon, Thales Blaso taught a full-capacity seminar for Rise Up Martial Arts Academy students and guests on how to handle four common guard positions in Brazilian jiu jitsu: closed guard, half guard, butterfly guard and spider guard. The second in his seminar series, Thales addressed how to handle these positions reliably from both top and bottom positions in each.

Thales’ kept the techniques simple and technically rigorous, so that all BJJ experience levels can benefit from the instructions and drilling.
